I am an Economics Ph.D. candidate at Arizona State University, and will be on the 2025-2026 job market. I am an Applied Microeconomist studying the Economics of Education, Industrial Organization, and Health Economics. My research focuses on education finance in post-secondary and primary education.
My Job Market Paper focuses on for-profit college closure, the impact on student enrollment, and institutional price-setting before exit. I find that the majority of students transfer to local community colleges, and before shutting down for-profit colleges raise tuition levels resulting in increased profits. My structural model allows me to recover a switching cost that rationalizes this price increase, and examine counterfactual regulation policies, finding that reducing transfer frictions is much more important than informing students or freezing prices.
